Springfield Armory is voluntarily recalling 3.3 XD-S 9 mm and 3.3 XD-S .45 ACP pistols due to a safety concern.

The recall is being conducted because Springfield has determined that in rare circumstances some 3.3 XD-S pistols in 9 mm and .45 ACP can experience a slam-fire during loading or a double-fire when the trigger is squeezed once.

This Safety Recall applies only to:

Springfield 3.3 XD-S 9 mm pistols - serial numbers between XS900000 and XS938700

Springfield 3.3 XD-S .45ACP pistols - serial numbers between XS500000 and XS686300.

Because of this potentially dangerous situation, stop using all 3.3 XD-S pistols, and contact Springfield at Springfieldrecall.com or (800) 680-6866 to determine if the pistol is subject to this recall. If so, Springfield will issue a return authorization and mailing label to return the handgun for repair at no cost.
