The National Rifle Association will celebrate the grand opening of the NRA National Sporting Arms Museum on Aug. 2, 2013. The museum is located at the Bass Pro Shops store in Springfield, Mo. More than a thousand guns will be displayed in exhibits including original prototypes and paintings from Remington Arms Co., shotguns from the American Trapshooting Association's Hall of Fame and a full collection of guns from the Pachmayr Foundation.

"We are thrilled to bring such a wonderful collection of firearms to Bass Pro Shops Outdoor World," said NRA museum director Jim Supica, "Featuring treasured guns from the NRA collection along with special exhibits from Remington and others, this museum promises to showcase a sporting arms collection the world has never seen."

The grand opening of the National Sporting Arms Museum coincides with Bass Pro Shops' Fall Hunting Classic that features free seminars on hunting basics from pros. The museum will be open every day from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. with extended hours during the Fall Hunting Classic. Parking and admission are both free.
