SIG Sauer was quick to draw a crowd on the first full day of SHOT Show 2013, thanks to the unveiling of its new SIG MPX submachine gun. Designed for the military and law enforcement markets, the SIG MPX is a modular, multi-caliber SMG with a few truly revolutionary innovations.

A short-stroke gas piston system allows the SIG MPX to run reliably across 9mm NATO and .40 S&W calibers, and the higher velocity .357SIG cartridge without adjustments. The MPX features an AR-styled lower receiver, shortening the learning curve for experienced AR users.

The MPX will be offered in four law-enforcement/government only configurations. Consumers, however, will have an opportunity to own the model MPX-C, a semi-automatic version with a 16" carbine barrel.
