Armed Citizen® Today

A Lawton, Okla., homeowner acted in self defense when an uninvited guest forced their way into the residence on Aug. 24, 2021.

It started when the homeowner heard someone force their way into the home through the back door. The homeowner, armed with a gun, shouted for the intruder to leave. However, when the would-be burglar did not heed the warning and made his way inside anyway, the homeowner shot him. When Lawton Police arrived on the scene, they found the wounded intruder, who was taken to a local hospital for treatment. (kfor.com, Oklahoma City, Okla., 08/24/2021)

Juvernia Shutters was opening her car door in a San Diego, Calif., parking lot when two men approached and asked for her car keys. She refused and the men tried to take her purse. During a struggle with the pair, the 56-year-old jewelry store owner pulled a gun from her waistband and shot one of her assailants. Shutters recovered her purse, which had $15,000 worth of diamonds inside, and a wounded suspect was later apprehended by police. (The Tribune, San Diego, Calif.)

Why the Murder Rate Quickly Fell to a Likely Historic Low

If the gun-control Left is to be believed, then the murder rate in the U.S. should be going up. After all, gun sales and ownership rates have been rising for the last few decades and anti-gun groups claim that gun ownership is the cause of violent crime. This, of course, is nonsense.
