An alleged kidnapper in Roanoke, Va., got more than he bargained for after an armed citizen came to the victim’s aid. The suspect, police say, abducted a woman and was holding her against her will. The next day, though, a friend came to her aid. When her acquaintance came to help, the abductor pulled a knife and attacked the man, who then responded by shooting the bad guy in the gut. The suspect will be charged after the hospital releases him. (The Roanoke Times, Roanoke, Va., 10/13/18)

When the car careened into several other vehicles a few blocks away, it was discovered that the woman had fatally shot the driver during the incident. The mother sustained some minor injuries, while the child was unharmed. (ABC 7, Fairfield, Calif., 10/25/2018)
