An armed man allegedly tried to confront and rob a 25-year-old man at a Nashville ATM just before 10 p.m. The would-be robber approached the man with a gun drawn as the man was making a deposit. The man at the ATM was also armed and opened fire on the suspect in self-defense, hitting him multiple times. The suspect ran a short distance before collapsing and dropping a pistol. The suspect was later apprehended by police and is charged with attempted aggravated robbery, while no charges were filed against the armed citizen. (The Tennessean, Nashville, Tenn., 7/31/19)

A Georgia man used his AR-15 to repel several wannabe home invaders in his front yard early one Monday morning. A group of three approached his home with their faces covered, and began to fire upon neighbors as they did. It was at this point that the homeowner fired back, killing all three. (WSB-TV 2, Rockdale County, Ga., 9/16/19)

Earl Presswood, manager of a diner in Shreveport, La., pulled a .380 pistol when a man armed with a .22 handgun entered his diner one day and attempted to rob hi. The man fled, but was later captured by police. (The Shreveport Journal, Shreveport, La.)
