Late on Thursday evening, April 30, in Baton Rouge, La., three armed teens attacked a 26-year-old man in a robbery attempt, police say.

The intended victim was also armed and defended himself, leading to a shootout between the 26-year-old and the teens. One of the suspected robbers, an 18-year-old male, was shot by the 26-year-old and died at the scene. The victim of the robbery was also wounded in the shootout.

The two other assailants, one 18-year-old male and one 17-year-old male, were booked in East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on charges of attempted first-degree murder and principal to first-degree murder. (The Advocate, Baton Rouge, La., 05/01/2020)

Two men, acting strangely, entered the North Nashville, Tenn., grocery store of Wayne C. Garner and ordered cigarettes. Garner placed the cigarettes on the counter with one hand and grasped a 38-cal. revolver under the counter with the other.

When one of the thugs drew a .45-cal. automatic out of his pocket, Garner quickly raised his gun and fired. The gun-wielding bandit fell dead, and his companion fled. (The Nashville Tennessean, Nashville, Tenn.)
