When a homeowner was escorting an unwanted individual off his property late one night, circumstances turned for the worse. Around 12:45 a.m., a homeowner was inside his house when he noticed a man, dressed in dark clothing, checking out a car door on the street. He then observed the individual walk into his yard, continue to the side of his house and out of sight. In response, the homeowner, a licensed gun owner, grabbed his handgun and went outside to investigate. When the homeowner found the trespasser, he proceeded to escort him off his property, but the trespasser began to physically fight back, threatening to shoot. As the aggressor reached toward his back waistband, the homeowner fired several rounds at him. Wounded, the miscreant fled the scene and later called police to claim he was the victim of a shooting. The criminal was taken to the hospital and arrested on an outstanding warrant for breaking and entering. The criminal could be facing additional charges. (Boston Herald, Worcester, MA, 4/30/18)
