A man in Houston, Texas, left a gun range around 5 p.m. on Feb. 10. Unbeknownst to him, three robbers observed him leaving and followed him back to his apartment. They then reportedly attempted to rob the man of his range bag, including the guns in it, but the man was able to draw one of two guns he had on his person and fire at the suspects, striking one in the chin. The other two suspects fled on foot, abandoning their vehicle.
The wounded suspect was expected to recover, and the investigation was ongoing. (click2houston.com, Houston, Texas, 2/10/26)

Newspaper carrier Farley Johnson had previously accommodated a local man by giving him extra papers, but when he had none to spare and refused, the man assaulted him. The thug departed, then returned with a rifle to Johnson's house where he fired several rounds through the front door.
Police came, but after failing to locate the gunman, left the Birmingham, Ala., neighborhood. Soon, the assailant resurfaced and shot at Johnson, who was carrying his father's shotgun. The young man returned fire with a blast that critically injured the attacker. (The News; Birmingham, Ala.)
