Armed Citizen® Today

A homeowner armed with a shotgun held several suspects at gunpoint in Fresno, Calif., helping police conclude a manhunt for three suspects after they were initially called to a neighborhood after reports of someone brandishing a handgun.

Police initially responded to the brandishing call and found a suspect and vehicle matching the description provided by the caller. The driver of the vehicle would not stop for officers, but eventually turned into an area neighborhood, where the vehicle stopped and three suspects ran from pursuing officers. As the manhunt unfolded, dispatchers received a call from a local homeowner, stating that her husband had detained two suspects at gunpoint.

Officers arrived at the house to find the two suspects inside the garage, along with a shotgun-wielding man. Both suspects were taken into custody, and a K9 unit quickly apprehended the third suspect. The wife of the armed homeowner had seen the situation unfolding on their home's security camera and called police to the scene as her husband armed himself. (FOX26 News; Fresno, Calif.; 2/8/24)

Walter Pahuta became suspicious when three men walked into his Elba, N.Y., grocery store at closing time. He secured his .25-cal. pistol. When one of the intruders pulled a gun, Pahuta ducked behind the counter and fired one shot. The trio fled. All were rounded up later, one with a bullet wound in the shoulder. Why the Murder Rate Quickly Fell to a Likely Historic Low

If the gun-control Left is to be believed, then the murder rate in the U.S. should be going up. After all, gun sales and ownership rates have been rising for the last few decades and anti-gun groups claim that gun ownership is the cause of violent crime. This, of course, is nonsense.
