Armed Citizen® Today

One suspect is dead and another faces multiple charges, including felony murder, following a December 2024 home invasion in Phoenix, Ariz.

A police investigation revealed that several armed, masked suspects forced their way into the house, which had several occupants. One of the home's residents opened fire on the intruders, and after a brief exchange of gunfire, the suspects fled. One 28-year-old suspect was found outside the house with a single gunshot wound. He was rushed to a local hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Police later tracked down an additional 19-year-old suspect believed to have been involved in the home invasion, and he currently faces charges of first-degree murder, aggravated robbery, armed robbery with a deadly weapon, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, first-degree burglary and kidnapping. None of the home's residents were seriously injured in the incident. (12News; Phoenix, Ariz.; 12/16/24)

From the Armed Citizen® Archives – April 1959

A robber, simulating a gun in his pocket, entered a Menlo Park, Calif., market and demanded "all the money in the till." When the clerk had cleaned $190 from one register, the bandit moved him over to a second machine and demanded its contents.

At this point, another grocery employee, Albert Franklin, Jr., who had armed himself with the company's .38-cal. revolver, attacked from the rear. Jerking the robber's hand from the gun pocket, Franklin trained his gun on the man until police arrived. It was later discovered that the robber had a long record of arrests.
