Armed Citizen® Today

An armed customer helped turned the tables on an armed robber at a Metairie, La. convenience store in the early morning hours of Friday July, 17. The incident began before 5:30 A.M. when the robber wielding a machete walked up and threatened to kill an employee standing outside of the store. The robber then walked into the store and began taking beers.

The employee walked into the store as the robber was gathering the beers at which point the robber again threatened to kill him. It was then that a customer inside the store drew his concealed firearm and pointed it at the robber. While the robber was held at gunpoint, the employee managed to take the machete out of the robber's hand and call the authorities. The robber then allegedly told the employee that he would leave the store if given back the machete.

The employee gave the machete back to the robber who then fled the store, dropping his wallet in the process. The robber was arrested a short time later when he returned to the store while authorities were still investigating the incident. (NOLA.COM, New Orleans, La., 07/20/2020

From the Armed Citizen® Archives August 1967

Badly beaten after the third holdup of his little Washington, D.C., secondhand shop, Eddie Eisenstein, 39, survived a hospital stay in critical condition and vowed "never again."

When three armed men took his money and tied him up in a fourth holdup, Eisenstein slipped his bonds, drew a hidden gun and fired six shots. Four bullets hit one robber, killing him.

Police said the slain man was a paroled felon already under indictment in another case. (Washington Star)
