A homeowner in Miami, Okla., defended himself and his property when a robber forced his way into the home in the early morning hours of Jan. 8, 2021.

The homeowner was in the living room when someone began banging on the back door shortly after midnight that Friday. When the homeowner heard someone climb through the back window, he armed himself with a shotgun. The robber then approached the armed resident, and the homeowner fired once at the intruder. The robber was struck by the shot.

Miami police were called around 12:16 a.m. and reported to the scene. The stricken robber was taken to the Miami Integris Hospital, were he was pronounced dead. The robber had 12 outstanding warrants for his arrest including child abuse, larceny, drug violations, threats of violence, domestic assault and burglary.
