A Texas woman is safe after firing on an armed pursuer who followed her home from a local fast-food restaurant and attempted to break into her home.

A police investigation revealed that the suspect, a 35-year-old man, pursued the woman just before 8 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 9, 2024 and turned into the woman's driveway behind her. As soon as the woman rushed inside, she called 911 and told dispatchers that there was an armed man in her backyard, yelling and screaming. The suspect then allegedly broke into the home through the rear garage door, forcing the lone woman to open fire.

When officers arrived on scene, they found the suspect lying on the floor of the garage, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. A loaded handgun was lying beside him. He was taken to a local hospital, where he remains in critical condition. He faces a charge of burglary. (Fox 4 News; DeSoto, Texas; 11/11/24)

Waiting in his car for his daughter to get off work, a Norman, Okla., man watched as a suspicious character walked into the dry cleaners, where he pushed the daughter to the back of the building and bound her. The clerk's father waited until the armed robber was away from his daughter, cleaning out the cash register, then he walked in with a pistol. He held the robber at gunpoint for police.
