A man in Glen Burnie, Md. was forced into action while feeding his chickens in the back yard early on a Thursday morning. His bulldog began frantically barking as sounds of a struggle emanated from inside his home. He went up to the front door of his house and peered in to find two men holding down his 28 year old fiancé, both armed—one with a gun and one with a knife. Reacting quickly, he slammed the door open and retrieved an antique 1940s shotgun loaded with buckshot. He chased them off his fiancé and fired at the men, prompting them to flee and injuring one in the legs. The police were called shortly after. His fiancé went to the local hospital with minor injuries, and the wounded suspect also went to the hospital. (Capital Gazette, Annapolis, Maryland, 11/07/2019)
