An office worker in Orlando, Fla., was forced to use a pistol in self-defense when they and a coworker were attacked by a man with a machete inside their business on the morning of Feb. 16, 2021.

The incident occurred before 9:30 a.m. that Tuesday, when a man entered the Staff Zone office on Old Winter Garden Road with a machete in his hands. The man was upset and began arguing with two employees who were in the office at that time. As the argument continued, the man then moved to attack the two employees with the blade. As the attacker lunged at one of the employees, one office worker drew a pistol and fired.

The attacking man was wounded by the shot and quickly fled the scene. He was later found by Orlando Police with a gunshot wound and taken into custody. Both of the office workers involved in the incident suffered lacerations and were taken to a local hospital, but they are expected to recover. The man that attacked them is charged with attempted felony homicide, aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and burglary. (clickorlando
