A group of Arizona burglars learned the hard way there is not always safety in numbers. Early one Thursday morning, four burglars broke into a Yuma County home. Upon entry the intruders woke the homeowner, who discharged his firearm, hitting all four suspects, one of whom was later pronounced dead at the hospital. (Fox News, Yuma, Ariz., 01/04/2019)

Suspicious of two men claiming to be electric company representatives come to check wiring in her Joliet, Ill., home, Mrs. Velma Nelson refused to let them enter. The men then tried to barge through the door, but Mrs. Nelson snatched up a rifle and threatened to shoot if they didn't leave. The assailants hesitated briefly, then fled.
