An employee of a pawn shop in Lawrence, Ind., defended himself when a trio allegedly attempted to rob him on Dec. 14, 2021. The employee had left the business to run an errand, when he was approached by three teenagers near an intersection. One pulled out a gun, and to gather the three tried to rob the employee. Unbeknown to the young crooks, the employee was also armed, and he drew a pistol and opened fire on them.

The armed teen and the employee exchanged gunfire, during which time one of the three was struck by the employee's rounds. This prompted the trio to flee. All three of them, including the one struck by the employee, got into a car and drove off. Police tracked down their vehicle not long after, and discovered all three of the alleged robbers. The wounded teen was transported to a local hospital for treatment, while his two companions were apprehended. Luckily for the pawn shop employee, he suffered no injuries during the incident.
