Armed Citizen® Today

A homeowner in Land O'Lakes, Fla. defended his himself and his family with a firearm from an armed man that forced his way in on August, 8.

The man's estranged wife is a member of the homeowner's family. The homeowner was supporting the woman while she was filing for divorcing against the man, who was enraged by that fact. So enraged, that he went to the home with a .380 caliber handgun that Saturday afternoon. The man initially kicked in the front door to the home, walked in and fired a shot from his handgun.

The homeowner responded to the shot by firing a shot from his own firearm at the intruder. The return-fire from the homeowner prompted the man to retreat out of the home. However, the man then forced his way back into the home a second time a short while later. The homeowner then shot and killed the armed intruder. (

Guns drawn, three men sauntered into Lloyd House's Apopka, Fla., market and demanded money. When one intruder threatened a 13-year-old cashier, House swept up a pistol from a drawer and shot him twice. House then wounded the other two thieves who returned gunfire as they fled. Both were later arrested along with two other men who were waiting in a getaway car. (Sentinel Star, Orlando, Fla.)
