Armed Citizen® Today

A Garland, Texas, apartment resident shot and killed two alleged home invaders after they forced their way into his apartment and opened fire on him.

The incident occurred around 2:30 a.m. that Saturday, as multiple residents awoke to the sound of gunshots in the complex. According to police reports, the resident said the two suspects broke into the unit and suddenly started shooting. The armed man began returning fire, hitting both of the alleged burglars.

When police arrived, they found one suspect inside the apartment, while the other suspect had made it just outside the door before collapsing. Both were pronounced dead at the scene. The resident voluntarily interviewed with detectives, who said "he was very cooperative with us." No charges have been filed against the resident. (FOX4, Garland, Texas, 3/18/23)
