An armed mother in Burlington exchanged fire with a burglar in defense of her home and son early one Wednesday morning. After being alerted by the sound of the intruder breaking into the kitchen, she quickly went to investigate, bringing along her firearm. Upon seeing her, the burglar opened fire. When she returned fire however, the reversal prompted him to climb back out the window whence he entered, and run off. Police are still looking for the criminal.
