Armed Citizen® Today

An alleged intruder is dead after encountering an armed resident inside a Lake Forest Park, Wash., home on Wednesday, March 29, 2023.

At 1:30 p.m., police responded to a call alerting them to a residential burglary in the neighborhood. The resident, who rented the house, heard a loud bang, which resulted from an entry door being kicked in as the alleged burglar gained entry. The resident told police that he tried to run to his bedroom to escape but that he was forced to open fire on the home invader.

When police arrived, they attempted to revive the suspect, but he died at the scene. According to officers, the alleged invader was known to the resident and had previously tried trespassing on the property a few years earlier. (FOX 13, Lake Forest Park, Wash., 3/29/23)

In Pontiac, Mich., Robert Clark was working his service station when he heard noises at the rear door of his building. Clark called his assistant, Larry Seaton, and then phoned police. Seaton arrived on the scene armed with a rifle and spotted two men running from the station. One fled into a nearby field, and the other jumped into a car where he was held at gunpoint by Seaton until police arrived. (Pontiac Press, Pontiac, Mich.)
