An armed citizen thwarted an armed robbery and assault in his Moticello, N.Y., apartment when two armed intruders forced their way in on April 6, 2021.

The incident occurred that Tuesday when the two robbers forced their way into the apartment and confronted a resident over a previous incident. The two then began to batter the resident. Alerted by the commotion of the assault, another resident grabbed his licensed firearm and shot at the two intruders, wounding one.

The two robbers then fled the apartment in a pickup truck and drove to a local medical center for treatment of the wounded robber's injuries. Both were later taken into custody by state police. Both were charged with felony armed burglary. (midhudsonnews.com, Hudson, N.Y., 04/06/2021)

Dennis Brown of Atlanta, Ga., killed a second thug at the Atlanta, Ga., hotel wherhe works. Brown and a co-worker went to investigate an activated car alarm in the parking lot and brought a suspect back into the office. When he pulled a pistol and opened fire, both hotel employees returned the favor with their own guns, killing the gunman. (The Journal-Constitution, Atlanta, Ga.)
