Springfield Armory has announced the all-new 9 mm EMP in a 4" barrel length.

“While the original EMP 3" models are surprisingly easy to handle, we wanted to continue to make it better." said Springfield Armory CEO Dennis Reese note. "The extra weight up front on the new 4" model not only helps dampen felt recoil, it helps control muzzle flip, allowing shooters to complete faster and more accurate follow-up shots.”

Frame height has also been proportionately increased, and a new grip allows plenty of room for a solid two-handed hold, even for shooters with larger hands. And instead of a nine-round capacity as in the original EMP, the 4" model packs 10+1.

Like the original, the EMP 4" sports slim-line Cocobolo wood grips and two-tone forged 416 stainless steel slide, and 7075 black anodized aluminum frame. A fiber optic front sight and two-dot, low-profile combat rear sight for easy target acquisition.

“It’s an elite quality pistol,” says Reese, ideal for home, range or a little friendly competition.
