Tekna Wilderness Edge Survival Knife

Made in the United States and issued to air force pilots in Japan and Poland, the fixed-blade Tekna Wilderness Edge survival knife system contains a variety of items in its hollow handle and sheath designed to see its user through a life-threatening calamity.

The 10.5"-long knife has a 6" full-tang blade with Ripsaw top edge, in solid or cut-out styles, made of 420HC stainless steel treated to a Rockwell hardness of 54-56. Inside the handle is an LED Splash-Lite submersible flashlight with a 20-year lithium battery. T

he quick-release sheath converts to a fishing pole with a reel containing 40 feet of 40-lb. braided line, and it stores a 17-piece fishing tackle kit. Other contents include: a nail for punching holes in leather and canvas for lacing; two safety pins; a thigh/gear strap; a signal mirror; a small-animal snare; a spear/arrowhead; a liquid-filled compass with lanyard; a magnesium fire starter stick; a ceramic knife-sharpener rod; a 10-page survival guide fan card; and a drilling thumbscrew for wood and light metals.

MSRP for the Tekna Wilderness Edge Survival Knife is $249. For more information, visit tek-tite.com.
