Nra Law Enforcement Booklet

Competitive shooting is the most effective training tool available to all law enforcement personnel. In this booklet, NRA celebrates all police officers that compete, recognizing their hard work and dedication in keeping our communities safe, and how NRA has supported law enforcement competition since the beginning.

"For more than 150 years, the National Rifle Association of America has been dedicated to advancing marksmanship, along with serving as the nation's foremost defender of Second Amendment rights," said Joseph P. DeBergalis, Jr., executive director, NRA General Operations. "Another major focus of the NRA is serving law enforcement officers with our programs designed to maintain readiness through training and competition."

Throughout the booklet, there are articles detailing the history of NRA's Law Enforcement Division, NRA directors with a history of service in law enforcement, the origins of NRA police competition, as well as highlights on notable competitors and the 2021 NRA Law Enforcement Officer Of The Year, Deputy Tyler Thoman.

"Combating crime is an honorable profession. Selflessly putting your lives on the line every single day to protect the lives of people who you've never met is the very essence of nobility and courage," said NRA Executive Vice President Wayne LaPierre. "Now, more than ever, millions of NRA members stand in solidarity with law enforcement. And the NRA is proud to continue our legacy of help providing additional resources and support to law enforcement agencies all across America."
