NRA Gun of the Week: Taurus 709 S 9 mm Luger Pistol

With an MSRP at just over $300, the Taurus 709 Slim 9 mm Luger pistol is as light on the wallet as it is svelte in the hand. Constructed of a reinforced polymer frame and a steel slide, the Slim weighs in at around 19 ozs. empty and measures just over an inch wide, making for an ideal carry pistol. Folks should keep in mind this striker-fired operates as a single-action, but has double-strike capability. The safety of the 709 Slim is enhanced by the Taurus Security System (TSS), which comes standard on Taurus' family of semi-automatic pistols. The Slim also features a loaded-chamber indicator.
