Success of the AR platform with the consumer market led to the birth of a cartridge that utilizes a .30-cal. bullet and is designed for use with AR-15-style rifles and pistols, the .300 Blackout. SIG Sauer, for one, has met the growing .30-cal. demand, developing a line of rifles dedicated to .300 Blackout. Meet the SIGM400 Predator. This hunting oriented, gas-operated, semi-automatic rifle features the company’s 16” stainless steel and matte finished barrel that comes threaded and capped with a protector. SIG went with furniture from ALG, Magpul and Hogue to offer a simple and streamlined rifle that gives an option to those hunters looking for a factory AR built for .300 Blackout. The flattop upper receiver has a section of 1913 Picatinny rail for use of optics, and in this case we fitted the gun with the company’s Bravo4 battle sight.
