What began in North Carolina as a parts and accessories supplier for America’s modern sporting rifle, Del-Ton Inc., now supplies a full lineup of turn-key, semi-automatic rifles. The company’s Sierra 316L, subject of this week’s video preview, provides the versatility of a modernized AR-15 platform while maintaining a cost-conscious approach.

Del-Ton supplies 7075 T6 aluminum, forged upper and lower receivers that are hardcoat anodized for a matte black finish. The flat-top upper is configured for right-hand ejection, along with a forward assist mechanism and ejection port cover.

The Sierra 316L features a 15” handguard, and thanks to Magpul’s MLOK mounting system, users can simply accessorize as needed. Del-Ton supplies a lightweight profile, 16” barrel. A twist rate of 1 in 7” is supplied and the barrel is threaded and fixed with a birdcage-style flash hider.

The gun’s lower is configured with standard, no-frills controls; a two-position safety selector is found on the left and on the right side is a magazine release button. The gun’s mil-spec buffer tube is fitted with a five-position collapsing buttstock. Provisions for sling attachment are found here, too.
