With a century of optics-building technology under its belt, Nikon has a announced what it calls the most advanced, highly engineered Monarch binocular yet made. The Monarch HG was built from the ground up to achieve best-in-class optical performance, unrivaled ruggedness and exceptional handling. From eyecups to objective lenses, the new patriarch of the flagship Monarch family pushes binocular performance to higher levels through design, technology and 20 years of Monarch ATB-building experience.

Nikon engineered the optical system of Monarch HG around its signature ED (Extra-low Dispersion) glass and enhanced multilayer lens and prism coatings for brighter, higher resolution viewing. Nikon’s all-new Field Flattener Lens System works in conjunction with the Monarch HG’s already wide field of view—8.3°and 6.9° respectively in the 8x42 mm and 10x42 mm models—to provide a sharp, clear view to the lens periphery. Field of view for 8x42 mm model is 435 ft. at 1,000 yards and 362 ft. at 1,000 yards for the 10x42 mm. High-quality multilayer coatings are applied to all lenses and prisms while dielectric high-reflective multilayer coating is applied to the roof prisms, achieving a bright view—the company claims is 92 percent or higher light transmittal—and natural color fidelity.

Additionally, the Monarch HG's body is die-cast magnesium alloy. Providing strength, impact resiliency and weight reduction, the slim body profile is further enhanced with rubberized panels. To assure long-term optical acuity, scratch-resistant coatings protect Monarch HG objective and eyepiece lenses, while interior lenses are shielded from fogging with an extreme waterproof rating that assures fogproof integrity even in low-pressure environments up to altitudes of 16,404 ft. or 5,000 meters. And Monarch HG binoculars are coved by Nikon’s No-Fault Repair/Replacement Policy, which protects them for life.

MSRP
$979.95 for the 8x42
$999.95 for the 10x42
