Beretta's enhanced its classic Model 92 with the Squalo in 2024. "Squalo" in Italian means "Shark," and this new design is loaded with features designed to go after the competition.

To start with, the Beretta 92XI Squalo is built with the X-Treme S single-action-only trigger, and a manual thumb safety mirrored on either side of the grip frame makes it easy to carry cocked and locked. At the top end of the gun is an MRD mounting system that allows users to mount their preferred red-dot sight. A flared magazine well makes reloads fast, and the extended takedown lever and adjustable magazine-release button allows users to fine-tune controls to their personal preferences.
