For 2022, Winchester Repeating Arms announced a brand-new bolt-action repeater, the Xpert in 22 Long Rifle. Designed for rimfire performance in a lightweight package the Xpert 22 LR marries manual operation with styling and features introduced by the company’s semi-automatic Wildcat rifle.

The Winchester Xpert 22 LR comes with a steel receiver fitted to a 18” button-rifled barrel with recessed muzzle crown. For added reliability and improved performance, a Bentz-style chamber is included. Company engineers include a hemispherical firing pin with the design to ensure reliable ignition of rimfire cartridges. Adjustable sights come standard, and the receiver is drilled-and-tapped for optic mounts. Winchester includes its new Rimfire M.O.A. Trigger with the Xpert rifle for zero take-up, zero creep and zero over-travel characteristics. An enlarged bolt hand is standard, too.

Winchester has built its newest rimfire repeater to function from detachable box magazines, the same as its Wildcat rifle and styled after the venerable Ruger 10/22 rotary magazine—a 10-round Winchester unit comes standard. The Xpert 22 LR weighs in at 4 lbs., 8 ozs., which makes for a lightweight platform that measures just over 36” long. Included with the advanced polymer stock system is a ¾” length-of-pull spacer and clip-on cheek rise for ½” vertical adjustment to give proper eye alignment with sights or optic. Suggested retail pricing on the new Xpert 22 LR starts at $319.99. For more information, visit winchesterguns.com.
