Springfield Armory Operator M1911 45 Acp F

Springfield Armory continues to enhance its M1911 pistol lineup with new variants in the last quarter of 2021, and the latest is the Springfield Armory Operator, a tactically oriented, duty-grade handgun chambered in .45 ACP.

“Springfield Armory 1911 pistols are renowned for their performance, strength and capabilities,” says Steve Kramer, vice president of Marketing. “With this new Operator, shooters get a duty-grade 1911 with the features they expect from a premiere fighting pistol.”

Built on a forged-steel frame and slide, the Springfield Armory Operator features a durable black Cerakote finish to ensure it'll survive tough conditions over a lifetime of service. The gun's durability is also enhanced through the use of steel components throughout construction, including the flat mainspring housing. There's a Picatinny accessory rail located on the frame's dust cover that allows for the attachment of accessories.

Inside the gun, users will find a 5" cold-hammer-forged barrel that's secured in place with a traditional barrel bushing, which makes it easy to take the gun down for cleaning and maintenance without needing special tools. Other feature of the Springfield Armory Operator include a tritium-illuminated sight set enhanced by a Tactical Rack rear sight with a flat ledge that allows users to rack the slide off a flat surface with one hand. The pistol is also equipped with VZ Grips G10 grips, an ambidextrous safety, forward slide serrations, a skeletonized hammer and a generous beavertail grip safety.

Each Springfield Armory Operator M1911 ships with two eight-round magazines equipped with bumper pads, and the suggested retail price on the gun is $1,099. For more information, visit springfield-armory.com.
