Nighthawk Custom joined the double-stack pistol world in 2020 with the launch of an all-new series of guns. The Tactical Ready Series features two models at its launch, and what distinguishes these guns from every other model in the Nighthawk lineup is the dedicated double-stack frame that allows the 9 mm Luger handguns to accept 17-round magazines.

“Up until this point, we have only offered a double stack as an upgrade,” says Mark Stone, owner and CEO of Nighthawk Custom. “With the current demand in the market, releasing a permanent double stack series meets consumer demands and shows customers what we can do with a double stack.”

The first model launched in the Nighthawk Custom Tactical Ready Series is the TRS Comp, a full-size pistol complete with an integrated compensator that redirects propellant gases to reduce muzzle flip. The compensator is modeled off the same integrated comp used on the company's single-stack Firehawk 1911, released in 2019.

Each Nighthawk Custom TRS Comp is constructed with a monolithic slide and a full-length dust cover complete with accessory rail. Both the frame and slide are finished in a sleek, black-nitride treatment that enhances both the gun's looks and durability.

The pistol features a stainless-steel trigger with a flat, serrated face, as well as an 18-karat gold-bead front sight and a Heinie Ledge Black rear sight. One of the other unique elements found in the gun are the machined dimples on the frame and slide, providing comfortable texturing that enhances control.

Nighthawk's TRS collection also includes a TRS Commander, which provides a full-size grip capable of accepting 17-round magazines that's paired with a shortened slide and barrel measuring 4.25" long. The TRS Commander also features smiliar dimpled texturing on the frame and slide as that found on the TRS Comp, and the gun features a full-length dust cover complete with an accessory rail.

The Nighthawk TRS Commander is available in 9 mm Luger and measures 5.81" high, 7.76" long and 1.49" wide. Unloaded, the gun weighs 36.7 ozs. The TRS Comp measures 5.81" high, 8.47" long and 1.44" wide. Total weight, unloaded, on the compensated model comes in at 39.6 ozs.

The suggested retail price on the TRS Series begins at $3,999 for the TRS Commander and $4,599 for the TRS Comp. For more information on these new handguns, visit nighthawkcustom.com.
