CZ-USA has announced it is now importing an optic-ready addition to its Shadow 2 line of competition-grade pistols to the U.S. market. The new CZ Shadow 2 OR is an optic-ready pistol aimed squarely at providing target shooters who compete within the United States Practical Association’s (USPSA) Carry Optics division with a rugged pistol engineered with the features necessary for top-level placement on the winner’s podium.

At the core of the CZ-USA Shadow 2 OR is a steel frame with fine-pattern front- and backstrap checkering that is nitride treated, creating a durable and corrosion-resistant finish. In addition to the nitride-treated steel, CZ provides its baked-on, black Polycoat finish.

The frame is stocked with thin blue aluminum panels with fine checkering and contours to match the frame. A deep recess and extended beavertail combined with a high-cut trigger guard ensure a quick sight picture and help to mitigate recoil by lowering the bore's axis with respect to the shooter’s hand.

Topping the frame is a nitride-treated steel slide with wide-cut serrations along its front section. The rear portion of the slide features a removable plate to allow users the attachment of red-dot sights or optics on board the Shadow 2 pistol.

Attached to the removable plate is a serrated, HAJO rear sight with clickable elevation adjustments. The rear sight is mounted within a dovetail of the optic plate—users needing to adjust for windage must drift the sight left or right. The front sight is a removable fiber-optic unit.

The Shadow 2 OR presents itself as a double-action/single-action pistol with capacity for 19 rounds of 9 mm Luger with an included “Plus 2” magazine baseplate extension. An adjustable, three-position magazine release button for right- or left-hand operation is provided.

The gun also features a 4.89” cold-hammer-forged steel barrel, and accessory rail is provided along the gun’s dust cover. Overall weight of the Shadow 2 OR is 46.5 ozs and commands a MSPR of $1,549.
