Hatsan Updates Escort Optima Shotgun

Hatsan USA’s product line includes a diverse selection of affordable, Turkish-made shotguns and rifles. On the shotgun side, this includes semi-auto, pump and over-under models. Announced in January at SHOT Show 2025, Hatsan’s newly updated Escort Optima over-under shotgun is now available.

Unlike the original Optima, the new shotguns are offered in three gauges—12 gauge, 20 gauge and 28 gauge. All models have single-selective triggers, a sliding tang safety and extractors and have Hatsan’s “Easy Adjust” action system, which allows the user to adjust the force needed to open the action. Barrels have a 7x7 mm ventilated rib and fiber-optic front sight, and use Hatsan’s Multi-Choke system of interchangeable choke tubes. Their receivers are made of aluminum and have a silver and black engraved finish. The 12-ga. model is also available with a steel receiver and ejectors. Optima shotguns are stocked in checkered Turkish walnut and have a rubber recoil pad.

Models chambered in 12 gauge and 20 gauge have 3” chambers and 28” barrels. Models chambered in 28 gauge have a 2 3/4” chamber and 26” barrels. This results in an overall length of 44.9” for 12- and 20-ga. Optimas and 42.9” for 28-ga. models.Weights are as follows: 12-ga. steel - 7.3 lbs.; 12-ga. aluminium - 6.2 lbs.' 20-ga. - 5.7 lbs.; 28-ga. - 5.5 lbs.
