In St. Louis, Gregory Dowling, 29, vice-president of the Midland Savings Bank, frustrated a robbery of the bank by killing two bandits and wounding a third. The attempt to rob the bank was made at noon on November 12 when Dowling was alone.

One of the three men who had robbed the Hazleton (Idaho) State Bank was killed on November 9 by a posse and two of his accomplices were captured. The stolen money was recovered.
