Thanks to the Gun Genius engine powered by GunBroker.com, we have a chance to see how consumers have responded to rifle offerings, both old and new. Now that we've crossed over into 2020, it's time to take a look at the best-selling rifles over the past year. Is your favorite rifle on the list? Check out the top five here:

Best-Selling Single-Shot Rifle of 2019: Ruger No. 1

More than 50 years after its introduction, the Ruger No. 1 continues to top the charts of single-shot rifles, even among other heavy-hitters like the Henry Repeating Arms Single Shot, the Chiappa Little Badger and the popular Davy Crickett rifle. Certainly, the No. 1's popularity has everything to do with the vast array of chamberings available over the years, as well as the legendary strength of its falling-block action.

Best-Selling Pump-Action Rifle of 2019: Remington 7600

Typically, when consumers think of rifles, pump-action designs don't come to the forefront, but they serve a purpose. For those who are used to the slide-racking action of a pump-action shotgun, models like the Remington 7600 allow wingshooters to keep their muscle memory intact, thanks to the similarities with guns like Remington's other popular offering: the 870 shotgun. The 7600 is offered in classic hunting calibers, like the .270 Win., 30-06 Springfield and .308 Win.

Best-Selling Lever-Action Rifle of 2019: Marlin 1895

Marlin continues to hit it out of the park with its big-bore 1895 series, and consumers are certainly responding, since this topped the charts of lever-action rifles sold in 2019. What certainly helps is the variety available in the lineup ,with 10 different configurations, ranging from wood-stocked, long-barrel models to short, stainless-steel Trapper models outfitted with rugged polymer furniture. One of the stand-outs in the Marlin lineup is its Dark Series, which includes a shortened barrel, a big-loop lever and a Picatinny optics rail atop the receiver and barrel.

Best-Selling Bolt-Action Rifle of 2019: Ruger Precision Rifle

When Ruger introduced its Precision Rifle lineup, that single gun spurred a revolution in the precision-rifle market, leading more manufacturers to develop affordable, purpose-built precision platforms that allow enthusiasts to sling lead at greater distances. Even years after its introduction, Ruger still tops the bolt-action rifle market with the Precision Rifle, and the company continues to expand this lineup with new, magnum-caliber offerings.

Best-Selling Semi-Automatic Rifle of 2019: Ruger AR-556

Showing up for the third time in our best-sellers list for 2019, Ruger hit it out of the park in the saturated AR-15 market with its bare-bones AR-556. The AR-15 platform is certainly one of the most popular rifles in the United States, and reaching the top of the best-seller list in this category means beating out some serious competition. Ruger manages to do it by offering a no-frills, quality gun complete with a standard A2 front sight, nylon A2 handguard and a flattop upper receiver that's optic-ready.
