Armed Citizen® Today

An armed homeowner acted in self defense when an armed robber forced his way into her Lucerne Valley, Calif., home on April 16, 2021.

The incident occurred around 9:14 a.m., when an intruder forced his way into the residence through a back door. The robber entered the residence with a hammer in hand and threatened the homeowner with when he encountered her. Fearing for her safety, the homeowner drew her handgun and shot the armed intruder.

The shot wounded the robber, who made his way outside of the home before slumping down in the road. The wounded robber was found by authorities and airlifted to a trauma center. The homeowner was not injured during the home invasion. (vvng.com, Victor Valley, Calif., 04/16/2021)

From the Armed Citizen® Archives August 1983

A Seguin, Tex., nurse, awakened when something bumped her bed, discovered a man wearing a stocking over his head. He threatened to kill her and her young son if she did not submit to him. Pretending to get a tissue from the nightstand, she instead extracted a pistol and shot him. The would-be rapist grappled with the woman, trying to turn the gun on her, but she stopped the attack, seriously injuring him with two more shots. (The Express, San Antonio, Tex.)
