Smith & Wesson is hosting a free, direct-to-consumer virtual event on March 15, at 8 p.m. eastern standard time. The one-hour session provides enthusiasts with the opportunity to see the company’s latest introductions and much more, while honoring social-distancing precautions from the comfort of their home or office. Registration is required to attend Smith & Wesson’s first-ever virtual event. There is no charge.

Simply go to the special webpage, provide your name, e-mail address, phone number and zip code. You will need to create a password. A confirmation e-mail will follow from the company. It includes a time-saving link to conveniently log into the event on March 15.

“With the cancellation of many regularly attended trade shows and events in 2020 and early 2021, we wanted to find ways to connect with our consumers in this new virtual world,” said Kyle Tengwall, Smith & Wesson vice president of marketing. “We’re excited to be able to share the latest company news with viewers and connect with customers in ways we’ve never done in the past.”

Those who log on will get a behind-the-scenes look at the 169-year-old company, a new branding unveil and product announcements—all in 60 minutes, without crowds or parking nightmares. It’s also a chance to hear comments directly from company CEO Mark Smith, brand ambassadors and other members of the Smith & Wesson team. It’s an ensemble rarely accumulated at any single trade or consumer show.

The COVID-19 pandemic has forced the cancellation or rescheduling of a variety of events that provided a glimpse of the gun industry’s latest innovations. Among those pushed back to later dates in an abundance of caution was the NRA Annual Meetings and Exhibits.

That celebration, which is the largest annual gathering of firearm enthusiasts, Second Amendment supporters and the industry, takes place Sept. 3-5 in Houston where members will get a chance to actually handle what Smith & Wesson introduces Monday.
