Taurus USA announced a serious upgrade to its TX22 rimfire pistol for 2021. The new Taurus TX22 Competition will provide all of the bells and whistles that casual shooters enjoy while specifically targeting the competitive shooting market—this latest iteration is optic-ready, custom-tuned and ships with three magazines.

Built on a proven blowback-operated action, Taurus has tuned the striker-fired pistol for match-grade consistency while also allowing users to tap into the growing market of pistol optics. An innovative, two-sided adapter plate was engineered to accommodate, at time of reporting, Burris, Bushnell, C-More, Doctor, Holosun, Leupold, Sightmark, Trijicon, Vortex pattern bases.

For those who’d rather stick to the supplied sights, Taurus employs a fully adjustable white dot at the rear of the skeletonized aluminum slide. The front sight is a fixed white dot. Taurus provides a comfortable, full-size, ergonomic grip and frame assembly that features panels of texturing to nest consistently between the hands during operation.

Overall length for the TX22 Competition measures 8.15” and the gun weighs in at 23 ozs. Taurus supplies a 5” bull barrel that is threaded for accessories. A Picatinny rail molded into the dustcover allows for additional accessories.
