Police in Cobb County, Ga., responded to a call at 9 p.m. on a Sunday night in late March after the report of a shooting at a home. Upon arrival, officers discovered that a group of would-be home invaders entered a local residence and were met by an armed 17-year-old resident.
The young resident fired at the invaders, striking two of them. One of the suspects, a 21-year-old, died at the scene. Another 21-year-old suspect was found with a gunshot wound to the leg. Police say the two 21-year-olds, along with a 16-year-old accomplice, attempted an armed robbery at the home when they were confronted by the armed resident.
The surviving 21-year-old suspect and his 16-year-old accomplice have been charged with aggravated assault, armed robbery, burglary, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime and murder.
