Mossberg Announces New Patriot Rifles

Mossberg has announced several new models in its Patriot line. First are the Patriot Synthetic and the Patriot Synthetic Super Bantam bolt-action rifles, chambered in 350 Legend. Both models are also available in scoped combinations, with variable 3-9 X 40 mm riflescopes. 

Designed for hunters, these rifles provide a platform for the straight-walled hunting cartridge that features a stock with a straight comb, rounded edges, a raised cheekpiece and a black rubber recoil pad. The grip boasts textured stippling, as do three surfaces on the fore-end. The standard-contour 22" barrel is free-floating, with a 1:16" twist and a matte-blue finish. To release one's shot, Mossberg has installed its Lightening Bolt-Action (LBA) user-adjustable trigger (adjustment range is 2 to 7 lbs.). The bolt is spiral-fluted, with a streamlined and checkered bolt handle; Weaver-style scope bases sit on the receiver, which is fed by a four-round box magazine. 

The Super Bantam additionally comes with a variable Length of Pull (LOP) stock, with a one-inch spacer, allowing LOP to be adjusted between 12" and 13". 

Next, Mossberg has released its Patriot Predator rifle in 6.5 PRC. This rifle is available either in a Flat Dark Earth (FDE) synthetic stock with matte-blue metal, or a TrueTimber Strata camouflaged-synthetic stock, with a metalwork in Patriot Brown Cerakote. Both stocks feature a straight-comb, rounded edge, a raised cheekpiece and a black rubber recoil pad.

Internally, the Patriot Predator features Mossberg's twin-lug, push-feed, machined-steel action, fed by a flush-fit four-round box magazine. The carbon-steel barrel is 24" with a 1:8" twist, straight-edge fluting and is threaded 5/8"-24 TPI for a suppressor. Much like its Patriot Synthetic siblings, the Patriot Predator has an LBA trigger, though instead of Weaver mounts, a top-mounted Picatinny rail provides for optic attachment.
