In Atlanta, Ga., an individual was returning home to discover three suspects breaking into multiple vehicles. The armed citizen confronted the alleged robbers and found himself under fire by the would-be thieves. In response, the citizen pulled his own firearm and returned fire in self-defense. The three suspects fled the area, leaving their car behind. Police were called to the scene, and located and caught two of the suspects. The third is still at large according to the most-recent report. (cbs46.com, Atlanta, Ga., 5/10/19)

A Rolla, Mo. man struck a blow for .45 ACP in the ongoing defensive caliber debate. Shortly after midnight one Friday morning, officers responded to a report of a disturbance in progress. After police arrived, they found a man shot inside a home. He was taken to the University of Missouri hospital in critical condition. Investigators said this appears to be an unlawful entry situation, during which the intruder was shot by a .45 ACP. (KY3Rolla, Mo., 5/31/19)

Mr. and Mrs. Charles E. Millican were alone in their Fort Worth, Tex., grocery when a man walked in, bought a pack of cigarettes, then threatened them with a length of pipe and demanded their money. Millican, 67, fired one shot from a .22 pistol kept under the counter. The holdup man fell, mortally wounded. (The Dallas Morning News)
