Kel-Tec, a company that constantly challenges the firearm market’s status quo, has released the rather unique CP33 .22 Long Rifle semi-automatic pistol. The 33 stands for the pistol’s pie-wedge-shaped 33-round magazine that holds the rimfire cartridges in two double-stack columns. This is a significant ammunition capacity increase considering that the majority of pistols in this class have magazines that hold 10 or 12 rounds. A vented aluminum upper is paired with a polymer lower for an unloaded weight of 24 ozs. The grip frame, trigger guard and light single-action trigger are borrowed from the .22 WMR-chambered PMR-30 pistol. Use the factory-installed fiber-optic front and adjustable rear sight system or take advantage of the full-length, integrated Picatinny optics rail to mount a red-dot sight. The muzzle is threaded at 1/2x28 TPI for muzzle devices with a thread protector provided. keltecweapons.com
