Mothers usually protect their children, but the tables were turned in Idaho when an adult daughter saved her mother from an assailant. Law enforcement officers were dispatched after a call came in about a disturbance in the neighborhood. As the police were responding, they were advised there had been a shooting at the house in question. They arrived to find civilians administering first aid to a 39-year-old man, who was shot by a 41-year-old woman. Emergency medical services personnel continued treatment, but to no avail. The armed citizen told officers that she fired because the man was attacking her 70-year-old mother. Witnesses and evidence supported the claim.
