Ohio officials said they will not charge a homeowner in the shooting death of a home intruder. The man and a woman were in bed and were awakened early one Sunday morning after the armed thug gained entry to the house. A physical confrontation ensued, and the male resident retrieved his handgun and fired three times, killing the attacker. (The Columbus Dispatch, Columbus, OH, 11/27/17)

When three masked individuals entered a pharmacy and started to pull plastic bags out of their pockets, the pharmacy owner feared for his life. The storeowner immediately drew his gun and fired several shots at the thugs, hitting one of them. The three intruders fled the store to a nearby-parked vehicle. The wounded intruder was checked into a hospital with charges pending. (Akron Beacon Journal, Akron, OH, 12/29/17)
