A neighbor was summoned to save the lives of two infants after a cry for help. While the man was sitting at home, a 12-year-old girl who was staying next door came by and told him there was trouble. Grabbing his firearm, the man went to the home, where he discovered that his neighbor was holding his set of twin 3-month-old babies under water in a bathtub while threatening their mother with a knife. The armed citizen pulled his revolver and fired two shots at the father, hitting him twice in the back, killing him. The children were taken to the hospital and were released in stable condition. The neighbor told news reporters that he felt he did the right thing. (kxii.com, Ada, OK, 6/2/17)

Teddy Jett of Borger, Tex., was friendly to two young hitchhikers he had picked up until the one in the back seat struck him on the head with a steel rod. Jett slammed on the brakes, grabbed his pistol from under the seat, and disarmed his assailant. Then, with blood spilling down his face, he drove them at gunpoint into nearby Vega and turned them over to the sheriff. (The Amarillo Daily News, Borger, TX)
