Smith & Wesson has grown its line of AR-platform rifles to include some 40 variants, and the subject of this week’s Gun Of The Week video—the M&P15T—is a carbine ideally suited for use in a defensive role. Light, handy and eminently controllable due to its 5.56x45 mm NATO chambering, the M&P15T features a quad-rail handguard with numbered Picatinny slots, assisting shooters who have preferred locations for the installation of accessories such as lights, lasers or foregrips. The M&P15T also comes from S&W with a 16” Armornite-treated barrel, a six-position adjustable buttstock, Magpul MBUS polymer sights and an integral trigger guard.
