Barrett, a manufacturer long known primarily for its .50-cal tactical rifles, branched into a whole new market in 2016 with the addition of the Sovereign line of double-barrel shotguns, and the Tennessee-based company has done it again this year with the introduction of the Fieldcraft, a lightweight, bolt-action hunting rifle. Available at launch in five short-action chamberings and four long-action chamberings, each model’s action is scaled to the dimensions of its cartridge, with weights ranging between only 5 and 6 lbs. Available in both right- and left-handed configurations, the new bolt-gun features a rigid yet light carbon-fiber stock and a magazine capacity of four rounds. barrett.net
